The Pirate cutlass is a one–handed, single–edged, mid–length sword with a slightly curved blade. These types of swords were used commonly as naval weapons during the Early Age of Sail. This sword has a semi basket type knuckle–guard is made from brass which provides protection to the hand when the sword is held by the wooden grip which has finger grooves carved out in it for enhanced gripping; the brass nugget type pommel adds beauty & balance to the sword.

The sword is designed to be well balanced & wielded with one hand & is stiff enough to thrust & slash easily. The blade is hand forged & expertly tempered from superior quality high carbon steel & has a narrow fuller on both side of the blade. The scabbard is made for quality hard wood covered with leather, with a belt hanger loop & a brass chape.
